Note: A higher resolution version, plus the tablature, can be viewed at http:///www.learnblueslicks.com/mixing-major-or-minor-pentatonic-licks/ ** Todays lesson shows how one can mix licks from both the major and minor pentatonic (or blues scale). Since the fingering of these scales is basically the same, it is simple to go between the two scales and change the feel of feel of the solo. The licks are shown in E, but they can be moved up and down the neck so you can play them in different keys (except for lick 5, which is an E-only turnaround lick).
Find tabs at http://www.freeguitarvideos.com/youtube/bluesnote.html This lesson will teach you a few standard riffs using the blues scale. We'll learn a lick and then learn other places on the neck where we can play it.
